Yes! Cigarettes and chewing tobacco are allowed. These items must be sealed upon admission. We also allow unopened, sealed, disposable vaping devices that clearly state the content. Any refillable vaping devices will not be allowed. Use of these products will only be allowed outside and during designated times and in designated areas.

Yes, all clinical staff are licensed through the State of Wisconsin. We have a multi-disciplinary staff
comprised of Master’s level clinicians, AODA licensed clinicians and Licensed Professional Counselors.

Pets are not allowed on campus.

Once you have been admitted into the 28-day residential treatment program, you will not leave the
facility unless it is part of programming.

Electronic devices are not allowed to be brought into the residential treatment program. There are
facility phones provided to you to call your loved ones.

Our Recovery Homes are designed for the person in recovery. To be able to concentrate on your recovery, family and children are not allowed to reside in the Recovery Homes.

No! Anyone in recovery is encouraged to apply to be a Recovery Home resident.

There is a one-time move in fee and a monthly fee for services residents are required to pay. Call and speak to our Recovery Homes Coordinator for more information.

Yes! The Jackie Nitschke Center is in-network with most commercial insurance companies, as well as
most Badger Care plans. If we are out-of-network providers with your insurance, there are still options.

The Intensive Outpatient Therapy (IOP) program lasts for 8 weeks, meets 3 times per week, for three hours per session. Once IOP is successfully completed the client will transition into Outpatient programming (OP). The Outpatient program lasts for 16 weeks, meets once per week, for 2 hours. There are IOP and OP programs in the morning and evening to work within your schedule.

Absolutely! We welcome all former clients that have successfully completed at least one level of
treatment at the JNC.

The Jackie Nitschke Center has a list of medications that have been approved by a psychiatrist who
oversees our facility. During your pre-admission screening, our Admissions Coordinator will determine if
your medications are allowed to be taken while in the program.

To be effective, substance abuse therapy must identify and address the underlying causes of the user’s behavior. Treatment also teaches patients how to identify high-risk situations and triggers, and how to develop the skills to prevent a relapse. The goal of treatment, which can include group and/or individual therapy sessions, is to help each patient achieve lasting recovery.

A typical day may include treatment programming, community support meetings, activities, yoga, physical fitness at the YWCA, and study time.

We utilize the Matrix Model in our programming. This is a structured, multi-component, evidence based treatment model. Evidence Based Practices are skills, techniques, and strategies that have been proven to work through experimental research studies or large-scale research field studies.

We offer a continuum of care that transitions through our Residential Treatment Program, Intensive Outpatient Program, Outpatient Program, and Recovery Homes. Our Recovery Homes offer clients a safe, sober living environment for up to 12 months. Our recovery residences are certified by the Wisconsin Association of Sober Housing (WASH) and JNC is listed on the State of Wisconsin’s Department of Human Services Recovery Home registry. We also offer a Family Education Recovery program for the loved ones of clients to help them address their own needs.

The safety and security of our clients is paramount. The residential house is staffed 24/7/365 by Resident
Assistant’s whose responsibility is to assure that everyone in our care is in a safe and secure space.

The JNC Alumni is comprised of any person in recovery who has completed at least one level of
treatment at the Jackie Nitschke Center and wants to continue their recovery with others of the same
mindset.

The family program’s focus is to educate and give loved ones the tools to cope within the chaos and aftermath of addiction. It is not therapy, but by having multiple people that are able to relate and connect to each other, the workshop has a stronger impact.

Yes. We welcome family members as an integral part of the recovery process. We have a specific day
that every client will be involved in that is dedicated to the client’s family and/or healthy supports. This
day is filled with education, communication exercises and healing of the family.

YES!! All addiction counselors and treatment providers are required by federal regulations to maintain
confidentiality. All employees of the JNC are unable to provide any information on our clients without
that client’s consent. No one will know that you have utilized the services at the JNC unless you have
given written authorization for your consent or have made the choice to share that information on your
own.
