Our mission is to support the Jackie Nitschke Center in its endeavor to improve the quality of life for adult clients and their families.
The alumni program is a relapse prevention tool that allows members to stay connected to a community of like-minded individuals in recovery. It provides a safe and confidential atmosphere where members can share their day-to-day experiences in recovery and receive feedback from other alumni members. Alumni members are also given the opportunity to help current Jackie Nitschke Center clients by sharing their experiences through meetings, speaking, and other recovery-related activities.
The JNC Alumni are active and involved in many areas of recovery such as:
JNC SPEAKING/GRATITUDE
As JNC Alumni, we continue to share our stories through volunteer speaking engagements at all levels of care within the JNC program.
We also host two gratitude parties for all JNC clients, staff, and alumni. Staying involved with JNC reminds us where we were and how we can continue to spread our strength, hope, and recovery with others.
SOCIALS
The Alumni get together for fun with other alumni and/or JNC clients for socials such as bowling, dinners, and themed events. This is a great reminder that we too can have fun with many others in recovery.
FUNDRAISING
Raising funds for the JNC Alumni account in order to give back to JNC and the community. The JNC Alumni raised over $5,000 in 2022, donating to JNC residential fees and other community non-profits. We are always looking at new ideas for fundraising events to raise additional funds while having fun in the process!
Some examples are: Brat Frys, Give BIG Green Bay,
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
As JNC Alumni, we strive to share the message and availability of recovery options such as JNC. We volunteer to share our strength and hope out to the community wherever we can.
Some examples are: Detox Centers, Jails/Correctional facilities, Farmer’s Market to pass out JNC information and more!
In 1997, the Jackie Nitschke Center was named after the late wife of Green Bay Packers great, Ray Nitschke. Jackie Nitschke was a recovering alcoholic and an outspoken advocate in the recovery community. She openly shared her journey with others, teaching our community that the disease of addiction crosses all income levels and families.
